June 1, 2006 Van Buren Police Department receives report of missing person The Van Buren Police Department received a report today of a missing male. Melvin Hyde, age 66, a male, has not been seen or heard from since 05-29-2006. He left his belongings at his residence in Van Buren, such as his eyeglasses and vehicle. Officers have reason to believe that Hyde may want to harm himself. Hyde is described as 5-10 160 lbs with black hair and brown eyes. Anyone have info on Hyde's whereabouts, contact the Police Department at 479-474-1234.
